During the use of UV printers, there may be deviations between the printed patterns and the colors created by designers, resulting in unsatisfactory printing effects. So, what are
the reasons for color differences in UV printing and how can they be avoided?
1、Image issue
Before using a UV printer as a medium to print patterns, operators need to process the patterns to be printed until they achieve the desired effect for the customer before starting printing. But if the color of the pattern is damaged due to processing errors during the image processing, the printed effect will have a significant difference from the actual
required effect. There are several specific reasons for this.
1.Computer monitors may display different colors visually due to the parameters set for different brands, models, and individual color values;
2.The lightest color value during color production should not be less than 8%, otherwise it may not be printed;
3.The color of the image on the design manuscript is RGB, not CMYK; Please do not use four-color black or four-color gray, as it may result in significant color differences
after printing;
4.Avoid using special colors. If the image is purchased or provided from elsewhere, sometimes no description file containing special colors is found, resulting in the overall color
change of the printed color. The resulting color difference is the comprehensive color difference of the whole.
Therefore, it is best for printer operators to conduct sample testing before printing, until the desired effect is achieved, and then proceed with formal printing. This can not only
save materials, but also print products that satisfy customers in the shortest possible time.
2、Ink issue
The quality of printing ink is the key to whether it can directly reflect the final effect. If the ink quality used by UV printers is too poor, it will be difficult to print the desired effect
for customers. Due to the uneven proportion of pigment components in some inks and the color mixing of ink in the ink cartridges, the printed patterns may have color cast.
Different types of UV ink have different colors, saturation, brightness, and color gamut. After replacing with a new UV ink, it will inevitably cause color problems in pattern
printing, and a color curve needs to be remade. Secondly, the ink dots are different. When printing from the side view, it is necessary to observe the status of the nozzle. If there
is any blockage that causes ink to not flow smoothly, the nozzle needs to be cleaned. If it is an ink sedimentation problem, because the internal color of UV ink that has not
been used for a long time may have sedimentation problems, it needs to be thoroughly stirred before use. If condensation or bonding occurs, it indicates that the UV ink has
expired and needs to be replaced.
3、Environmental factors affecting UV printing
Environmental factors can also affect color differences in printing, including printing time, UV ink quality, temperature, humidity, material properties, and other uncontrollable
factors that can lead to color differences. For example, when the humidity in the working environment of a UV flatbed printer is too high, there may be residual moisture on the
substrate itself or surface. In this case, UV ink printing is not easy to completely dry, which affects the quality of printing; When the working environment temperature of UV
flatbed printers is too low, it can affect the smoothness of UV ink. Viscous ink can easily cause problems such as floating ink, unclear printing, color mismatch, and may also
cause dryness, peeling, and other issues.
Therefore, it is necessary to avoid storing consumables and operating equipment in excessively harsh environments. Dehumidification or drying can be carried out appropriately
according to the climate to maintain indoor air humidity between 30% and 70%; The indoor temperature should be kept between 20 ℃ and 40 ℃ as much as possible to reduce
the impact of environmental factors on the printing effect.
4、UV printer itself issues
The stability of UV flatbed printers is reflected at this point, and a highly stable UV printer is less likely to experience color differences in printing. In addition, the printing accuracy of the printer is also an important factor. The higher the printing accuracy of the nozzle used by the printer, the more realistic the printed effect will be, and the less likely there
will be a discrepancy between the printing effect and the actual required effect.
5、The impact of material properties
Printing media can also affect color difference, as each material has different base colors and ink adsorption properties. If the characteristics of the material can be mastered,
using colors in design will be more convenient. It should be noted that materials with darker background colors are more prone to color differences.
In addition to the above reasons, UV printer operators themselves are also an important factor. Only excellent and attentive UV printer operators can print products that better
meet customer needs. If the operator simply wants to print the product, the color effect will be dull and lackluster, which will not only result in the loss of this enterprise customer, but also make the later development of the enterprise more difficult.
